North Summit Dental is proud to support the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), a new federal initiative aimed at improving access to dental care for eligible Canadians. If you qualify for CDCP, you may receive low-cost or no-cost dental services right here at our clinic in Burns Lake, BC.
What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
The CDCP is a federally funded program developed by the Government of Canada to help individuals and families without private dental insurance access essential oral health care. It is being rolled out in phases, starting with seniors and expanding to include more age groups and household income levels.
Am I Eligible for the CDCP?
You may qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan if you:
Do not have private dental insurance
Have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000 per year
Are a Canadian resident
Have filed your tax return for the previous year
Eligibility is determined and administered by Health Canada and Sun Life, the plan’s insurance partner. You can apply and check your eligibility through the official Government of Canada website.
What CDCP Services Are Offered at North Summit Dental?
We provide most services covered under the CDCP, including:
Routine exams and cleanings
Digital X-rays
Fillings and extractions
Dentures and denture repairs
Root canal therapy
Preventive care and oral health education
We also offer sedation options and care tailored to patients with anxiety, special needs, and complex cases, helping make your experience as comfortable as possible.
Do I Have to Pay Anything?
Depending on your income, the CDCP may cover 100%, 60%, or 40% of the approved fees. If there’s a portion not covered by the plan, you’ll be responsible for paying the remaining balance. We’re happy to explain what’s covered and provide cost estimates before treatment.
